Проблема с переносом БД в Heroku — PG :: UndefinedTable: ОШИБКА: отношение «пользователи» не существует

Вопрос:

Для начала я использую две разные базы данных: sqlite в разработке и postgresql в производстве.

Я думаю, что проблема связана с тем, что я забываю постоянно переходить на heroku после внесения изменений в мою БД. Я, вероятно, выполнил четыре или пять миграций локально, прежде чем перейти на heroku. В любом случае, проблема в том, что при heroku run rails db:migrate запуске я получаю сообщение об ошибке, PG::UndefinedTable: ERROR: relation "users" does not exist хотя в процессе разработки это определенно происходит. Похоже, что вы создаете comments таблицу раньше users , и при использовании user_id внешнего ключа в comments таблице происходит сбой, потому что такой таблицы еще нет.

Убедитесь, что ваши миграции упорядочены правильно (пользователи, затем комментарии).

И, как правило, вы всегда должны сначала создавать таблицы / столбцы и только после их создания и переноса ссылаться на них.

5. @jamesemcc да, речь идет исключительно о поддержании порядка. Если вы удалите базу данных, откат не потребуется, но да, если вы выберете откат, вам придется выполнять откат до тех пор, пока миграции, которые вы хотите изменить, не будут отменены.
